Manitoba MTB Provincial Results -Portage Junk Yard Dogs Rocked the Ridge!!!

This years Manitoba Mountain Bike Provincials in Falcon Lake on August 26th, 2012 saw representation from the following JYD participants:

U9 girls   Ryleigh Lovett           1st place finish
U13 girls Olivia Lovett             2nd place finish
U15 girls  Keesha Otsuji          2nd place finish
U15 boys Kailen Shackleton    4th place finish
U17 boys Willem Boersma       1st place finish

Junior Expert Women Jenna Leonhart 1st place finish

Portage Junk Yard Dogs Bring Home Gold at Provincial Time Trials

Richard Allan, Jenna Leonhart, John Palmer

 All three scored first place finishes in their respective divisions in Altona.

Leonhart won the women's junior division 16.1-km race in a time of 27:28, Allan won the men's 50+ 19.2-km race in a time of 33:02, and Palmer won the men's 70+ 16.1-km race in a time of 37:35.

Cross Season is Here!!

CrossLabs - Free Casual Cyclocross Practice

Everyone is welcome! Join for a fun cyclocross practice session and workout that will mix skills and drills with games and challenges.  All you need is a bike (any bike will do) and a helmet. Suitable for all ages and abilities. 

When: Tuesday nights in September at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Canadian Mennonite University (North Campus), 500 Shaftesbury, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Free informal sessions led by local members of the cross community for people completely new to cyclocross or those looking to improve their skills. They are open to all comers.

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, UCI WorldTour event presented in North America, is a major step on the way to fulfilling one of the primary objectives of the UCI WorldTour: the globalization of élite cycling. This tour stop in Québec City joins the list of existing officially sanctioned events in Europe, Oceania and Asia.

Portage Junk Yard Dog Completes Ironman Canada

Congratulations to Portage JYD John Ferg who completed Subaru Ironman Canada in Penticton, British Columbia with a time of 13:50:23. (Swim 2.4 miles/Bike 112 miles/Run 26.2 miles)
This was the 30th Anniversary of Penticton Ironman and it was announced this past Thursday that it would be the last one held there.
John did the JYD proud and even worn the JYD cycling jersey for the bike portion of the race.
